Trump Claims Victory in Debate with Kamala Harris, Sparks Online Ridicule: ‘Delusionally Insane’
Former President Donald Trump faced widespread mockery after his late-night claim on Tuesday that “everyone” now agrees he won a recent debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, despite there being no such debate.
“Finally everyone is agreeing that I won the Debate with Kamala,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “It was like a delayed reaction but, as one Political Pundit said, ‘Trump is still the G.O.A.T.'” Trump’s claim quickly ignited ridicule online, with many pointing out that no debate between him and Harris had taken place.
The group Republicans Against Trump responded by quoting the former president’s post and writing, “Imagine thinking this delusional, narcissistic buffoon should become the president of the US.” Social media personality The Purple Pimpernel joined in the mockery, humorously noting, “A baby GOAT is called A KID.”
The response drew attention to Trump’s self-proclaimed title as the “G.O.A.T.,” which stands for “Greatest of All Time.” Another influential voice, Spiro’s Ghost, commented on the absurdity of Trump’s post, writing, “He is delusionally insane—more so every day.”
Mike Sington, a former senior executive at NBCUniversal, took the criticism further, accusing Trump of manipulating the truth. “He never stops gaslighting,” Sington said, referring to the psychological manipulation of making someone question their reality. He added, “Literally no one thinks he won the debate.”
Trump’s false claim of a debate victory continued to fuel disbelief and satire on social media, reinforcing the perception among his critics that he increasingly operates in an alternate reality.
