“Witty, Smart, and Hilarious”: Barron Trump Shines at Dinner, Becomes TikTok Sensation at NYU
In June, Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, hosted an intimate dinner at Mar-a-Lago with a select group of guests, including podcast hosts Patrick Bet-David, Adam Sosnick, Tom Ellsworth, Vincent Oshana, and FOX News personality Jesse Watters. The invitation came after Barron, a fan of the Valuetainment podcast, requested their company.
As reported by The Irish Star, The group, clearly impressed, described Barron in three words: “Witty, smart, and hilarious.” The hosts shared their experience on a podcast, praising Barron’s charisma and humor. “I’ve never laughed this hard,” one of them said. “He ran the whole dinner with stories and entertainment. He gave honest life anecdotes about family—it was cracking me up.
He was a kid but wasn’t snide, he wasn’t telling dirty jokes. He was incredibly balanced, engaging, witty, and funny. I came away liking him a lot.” They added that Barron was a sharp, quick-witted, and grounded host, impressing everyone with his humor and maturity. “He was grounded and legitimately funny. I don’t laugh to laugh,” they remarked.
Now a first-year student at New York University (NYU), Barron has also found himself unexpectedly becoming a TikTok sensation. According to WIRED, videos of Barron navigating NYU’s campus—often blurry and shot from odd angles—have garnered hundreds of thousands of views. The footage, captured by students trying to remain inconspicuous, has led to a comparison with Sasquatch sightings, as many of the videos are fuzzy and taken from within bags or pockets.
While some TikTokers speculate about Barron’s personal life and course of study, little is known about him beyond the viral videos. Grace Rowley, an NYU student interviewed by WIRED, shared her surprise at Barron’s decision to attend such a liberal institution. “I feel like Barron could’ve gone to any school, but the fact that he chose one of the most liberal schools in the country speaks volumes. I was shocked and super intrigued that he would choose NYU.”
Prior to his time at NYU, Barron remained an enigmatic figure at his Florida high school. According to the Daily Mail, he rarely attended social events like football games or dances, and his classmates described him as someone who didn’t socialize much outside of school.
Despite his low profile, Barron reportedly played an active role within Team Trump before starting at NYU. He successfully lobbied his father over the summer to arrange meetups with his favorite Twitch streamers and influencers. Additionally, Barron was listed as a “DeFi visionary” in a World Liberty Financial white paper, further cementing his involvement in the business world.
