Kimberly Guilfoyle Once Angered Donald Trump Over Senate Campaign Job

Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former television personality and prominent Trump campaigner, once found herself in hot water with Donald Trump. The controversy arose when Guilfoyle, who is also the partner of Donald Trump Jr., accepted a job offer that reportedly enraged the former president. According to reports, Trump was furious when Guilfoyle took a position with a Senate campaign he did not support.
The situation unfolded when Guilfoyle began working for Eric Greitens, the former Governor of Missouri, who was running for the U.S. Senate. Trump, who had no intention of endorsing Greitens, was displeased with Guilfoyle’s involvement in the campaign. “Trump thinks Greitens is problematic, and that Kim is annoying. He said, ‘Why the f— is she working for him?’” a Trump adviser told Politico Playbook. Trump’s main concern was that Guilfoyle’s role could be seen as an indirect endorsement of Greitens, which he wanted to avoid.
Greitens, a controversial figure, resigned as governor in 2018 amid accusations of sexual assault and campaign finance violations. His tarnished reputation made him an undesirable ally for Trump, particularly during the 2020 presidential race. Guilfoyle’s association with Greitens reportedly irritated Trump for some time.
However, Guilfoyle dismissed the notion of any rift between her and Trump. She told reporters that rumors of discord were false, and Trump never publicly addressed the issue. The controversy soon died down as political campaigns continued to move forward, according to SFGate.
Fast forward to 2024, and tensions between Guilfoyle and Trump appeared again, this time during the Republican National Convention in July. As Trump greeted family members and supporters, Guilfoyle, standing beside Donald Trump Jr., was seemingly ignored by the former president. Cameras captured what looked like an awkward moment when Trump passed by without acknowledging her, despite Guilfoyle cheering and clapping for him.
This public snub wasn’t the only incident. According to The List, Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump, also appeared to ignore Guilfoyle during the event, adding to speculation about her strained relationship with the Trump family.
Despite these moments, Trump has shown public support for Guilfoyle in the past. During her 54th birthday celebration in March 2023, Trump reportedly praised her, saying, “I look forward to officially welcoming Kimberly into the family when Don [Jr.] marries her … we all love her.”
According to Page Six, While Guilfoyle’s dynamic with the Trump family has had its ups and downs, her close connection to Donald Trump Jr. keeps her in the inner circle, even as her relationship with the former president remains ambiguous.
