Vice President Kamala Harris faced widespread mockery after an apparent slip-up while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance on the Senate floor on January 3, as reported by Fox News. The incident occurred during the swearing-in ceremony of the 119th Congress, where Harris was tasked with leading the Pledge. However, her rendition caused a stir as she appeared to stumble over the well-known words.

The Pledge of Allegiance, a patriotic vow recited by millions of Americans, reads, “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Last amended in 1954 under President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Pledge has remained unchanged for decades.

However, according to Fox News, Harris was heard saying into the microphone, “I pledge allegiance to the United States…” instead of completing the full, proper recitation. The mistake quickly caught the attention of viewers, and a video of the moment went viral across social media.

The error did not go unnoticed, with many quick to ridicule the Vice President. One social media user posted, “HOLY S**T Kamala Harris doesn’t know the Pledge Of Allegiance,” while another joked, “Kamala Harris not knowing all the words to the Pledge of Allegiance is her political career in a nutshell.”

Many others joined in the chorus of mockery, with one remarking, “This is absolutely pathetic. Listen as she tries to recite it and completely messes it up. America dodged a bullet,” while someone else added, “This might be her most embarrassing moment yet.”

The incident even prompted some to question Harris’s readiness for higher office, with one person quipping, “Kamala Harris appears to forget the Pledge of Allegiance during the swearing-in ceremony for new senators. This woman is a heartbeat away from being the president.”

Another critical comment read, “Our current Border Czar and occasionally Vice-President, Kamala Harris just messed up The Pledge of Allegiance. Oh Kamala, you were never qualified to be VP, let alone the president.”

Despite the social media frenzy over the mistake, Harris’s gaffe has quickly become a viral topic of conversation, as critics continue to weigh in on her perceived lack of preparedness.
