Father of Two Found Dead at Playground: Police Investigate Suspicious Death Linked to Former Business Associate

A man has appeared in court charged with the alleged murder of 36-year-old father Anmol Bajwa, whose body was discovered at a children’s playground in Melbourne’s western outskirts. Bajwa’s remains were found around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday near Elementary Road in Mambourin, close to Wyndham Vale.
Police have accused 31-year-old Ishtpal Singh of the crime. An online fundraiser established to support Bajwa’s wife and children described him as “a father, a husband, and a loving son.” The tribute highlighted Bajwa’s dedication to his family and his aspirations for a better life in Australia.
“Anmol was a community and family-oriented person who worked hard to build a better life in Australia,” the fundraiser stated. A separate post by Bajwa’s friend, Bhabbu Khera, sparked an outpouring of grief online. “Anmol was a source of love, light, and inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, 9News reported.
His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support will forever remain in our hearts,” Khera wrote. On Wednesday, Singh appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for a filing hearing. Dressed in a buttoned-up blue shirt, he was escorted into the dock by two security officers.
Due to the early stage of the legal process, Singh was not required to speak or enter a plea, and details of the allegations against him were not disclosed in court. Singh’s lawyer, Michael Haralambous, informed Magistrate Matthew Page that it was his client’s first time in custody and that Singh was currently on antidepressant medication.
Singh was remanded in custody, with the case scheduled to return to court on May 23. The tragic death of Anmol Bajwa has left the local community in shock, as tributes continue to pour in for the devoted father and husband.
