Speaking to the Sunday Times, the friend pointed to a specific instance where the couple was excluded from a crucial family briefing, which was seen as a significant slight. “The King made some really bad decisions—it was conveyed that he didn’t want them there,” the insider stated. Had Harry and Meghan attended, they would have had to leave the palace as other family members and guests were arriving, creating an awkward situation. “So in the end, they didn’t go,” the friend said. “The briefing notes didn’t arrive [via email] for them until around 11 pm.”
