Adele Reflects on Career and Life After Wrapping Her $100M Las Vegas Residency
Adele concluded her highly successful Weekends with Adele residency at Caesars Palace on November 23, 2024, marking her 100th and final performance. The two-year residency, which began in November 2022, was a massive success, reportedly earning the 36-year-old superstar a staggering $100 million.
Despite the triumph, Adele revealed to fans that she is uncertain about her next career steps. “I don’t have any f—king plans,” she candidly shared during an emotional speech, as reported by The Sun. “I’m not doing anything else. I’m singing myself about what I’m going to do.”
Reflecting on her future, the Set Fire to the Rain singer added, “I guess I’ll just day-drink. I just dunno when I want to next come on stage. It’s time for the next chapter, and it’s time for the next season of my life.”
Adele also shared a heartfelt tribute to her 11-year-old son, Angelo, crediting him as the driving force behind her decision to pursue a residency over a traditional tour. “To my son, I chose to do a residency mainly because I f—ing hate touring, but I chose to do a residency so I could keep his life normal,” she explained.
“I did do that. But I also wouldn’t change it for the world. I get to be with him on the weekends now because obviously, you can’t always come.” She continued, “All I wanted to do was do some shows and just fall in love with performing again.”
The residency, Weekend with Adele, was created in support of her 2021 album 30, which was deeply personal, chronicling her experiences during her divorce. The shows received widespread acclaim for Adele’s powerful vocals and intimate performances, reaffirming her status as one of the greatest artists of her generation.
As she steps away from the stage, Adele’s emotional farewell speech signals a transition to a new phase in her life, though fans remain eager to see what the next chapter will hold. For now, Adele appears focused on embracing her personal life and cherishing time with her son. “I’m grateful for these moments,” she said, closing out her residency in front of a sold-out crowd. “But it’s time to move on.”
