Brittany Cartwright Opens Up About Co-Parenting Efforts with Jax Taylor Amid Divorce
Brittany Cartwright recently shared insights on the efforts she and her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, are making to build a “healthy co-parenting relationship” as they navigate their divorce.
In a candid conversation with People, Cartwright spoke about Taylor’s role as a father, saying, “He’s a great dad. Great dad, terrible husband.” Despite the challenges in their personal relationship, Cartwright emphasized their shared commitment to their son, Cruz. “I’m not ever going to take Cruz away from him. We will always put Cruz first, and we are going to work towards a healthy co-parenting relationship,” she explained.
Cartwright acknowledged that developing the ideal co-parenting dynamic will take time. “It’s going to take some time,” the 35-year-old The Valley star admitted. “Things are still very raw between us, but for the most part, I do know if I needed something, if Cruz needed something, I could call him, and he would be there for us.”
Cartwright filed for divorce from Taylor on August 27, after five years of marriage, seeking primary legal and physical custody of their son, Cruz. According to a source who spoke to People, the decision was not made lightly. “This step has been a long time coming and something Brittany knew she had to do for the best interest of herself and her son in order to move forward and put a stop to the tumultuous cycle they’ve been living in,” the source shared.
While the path ahead may be difficult, Cartwright remains hopeful that they can work through their issues for the sake of their child, emphasizing that their son’s well-being will always be the priority.
