“I Still Have It”: Katy Perry Reveals the Surprising Keepsake She’s Holding Onto from Her Pregnancy
Katy Perry has revealed an unusual keepsake from her pregnancy: the positive pregnancy test that confirmed she was expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom.
In an interview with Capital FM, the Dark Horse singer shared insights into her emotions during that life-changing moment and the sentimental value of the test. “Here is my pee stick for one of my children, I conceived my daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom,” Perry said while holding up the memento.
Recalling how she broke the news to Bloom, Perry described the excitement of the moment. “I remember, Orlando was gone, and I FaceTimed him when I was on a hike and I was like, ‘Guess what!’” she shared.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, on August 26, 2020, a moment Perry described as a dream come true. “We had wished for her so much and set every intention, and we just got our biggest gift,” the 40-year-old singer said.
While many might find keeping a pregnancy test unconventional, Perry doesn’t see it that way. “It was the best decision I’ve ever made. And I still have it. And that’s weird, but it’s not, and I don’t care,” she admitted with a laugh.
The pregnancy test isn’t alone in its special storage spot. “Oh, it’s in a drawer with lots of things,” Perry revealed. “You know what else is in the drawer? It’s probably next to Orlando’s Legolas ears. Just all the most important things.”
For those unfamiliar with the couple’s story, Perry and The Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom began dating in January 2016. After three years together, they got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019.
The sweet anecdote highlights Perry’s sentimental side and her joy in celebrating the unique milestones of motherhood. Fans were delighted by her candidness and humor, as well as the glimpse into her personal life.
While keeping a pregnancy test might not be everyone’s idea of a keepsake, for Perry, it serves as a cherished reminder of the moment her journey into motherhood began.
