Travis Barker Breaks Silence on Son Rocky’s Leaked Photo, Prefers to Keep Family Out of Spotlight

Travis Barker is taking a stand after a leaked photo of his and Kourtney Kardashian’s son, Rocky, surfaced online. In an exclusive interview with The Wall Street Journal, the Blink-182 drummer opened up about his parenting philosophy and his efforts to protect Rocky’s privacy.
Barker, who welcomed Rocky with Kourtney in 2022, expressed disappointment over the invasion of their family’s privacy. “Unfortunately, someone finally got a photo of him,” Barker said, acknowledging the difficulty of keeping their son out of the public eye. “But we’d rather keep him out of the spotlight.”
The 48-year-old musician also reflected on how he would approach parenting differently if given the chance, particularly regarding his older children. He admitted that he regrets the level of public exposure they’ve experienced. “If I could do everything differently, I would have done the same thing with my [older] kids,” Barker shared. He further explained his concerns about children growing up in the social media age. “I think it’s weird to grow up and you’re 15 or 12, and you’re like, ‘Mom, you posted this of me?’”
Despite the challenges of fame, Barker remains committed to protecting his family’s privacy, especially for Rocky. He and Kourtney, who have embraced a quieter approach to raising their son, are determined to shield him from the relentless media attention they both know too well.
During the interview, Barker also gave a glimpse into his family life, particularly his Mondays, which are dedicated to spending time with his family when he’s not on tour. “If I’m home and not on tour, I wake up around 6:00 and walk for an hour,” he said. He added that mornings often include walks with Kourtney and Rocky. “If Rocky is up, we’ll go for a walk outside; me, my wife, and Rocky. Then I hit a workout right afterward.”
Barker, who also has two children from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler, emphasized the importance of family time, especially given his busy touring schedule. He remains devoted to creating a balance between his music career and being present for his family.
While Barker’s protective stance over his children’s privacy is clear, it’s a delicate balance for someone whose life has been so publicly chronicled. As he and Kourtney navigate their parenting journey, they continue to prioritize keeping Rocky away from the spotlight—a choice Barker wishes he could have made for his older children.
