THE RAPPER WAS HOPING TO CARRY THE CHILD SHE AND JESSECA HARRIS-DUPART HAVE BEEN TRYING TO HAVE, BUT HER DOCTOR SAID SHE SHOULDN’T DUE TO MULTIPLE FIBROIDS.

A number of celebs got married in 2022, but Jessica Harris-Dupart and rapper Da Brat’s ceremony will stay in memory. The couple had a grand wedding and reception in February of this year, and during their early married years, they focused on growing their family.

According to Essence, Brat, who was considering getting a baby for the couple, was unfortunately advised against doing so due to problems with fibroids. When the 48-year-old shared the doctor’s advice on a WE tv episode of Brat Loves Judy, she was in tears.

“Just came from the doctor and the doctor said I have two fibroid tumors so he suggested that I shouldn’t carry,” she shared.

She added, “I don’t know much about fibroid tumors but he was like, it would probably be better if my partner carries.”

The rapper may need a surgical procedure like a myomectomy in order to have the best odds of conception, depending on where her fibroids reside (submucosal fibroids protrude into the uterine cavity, which can make conception challenging).

Fortunately, Harris-Dupart is supportive of her wife despite the bad news and declared that she was prepared to step in and carry the baby if necessary. She said that she can go to a place where she can act as the carrier, but she wanted Brat to know how it feels. She already has 3 children of her own: a daughter named Deja, two sons named Byron Jr. and Jay, and one son named Jay.

“So I think the journey, if I was the one to carry, just wouldn’t be as sentimental for her because she would be, you know, she would bond with the baby inside of her. She would get the first kick, the first feels, the first butterfly flutters. So, ideally, I would want it to be her. But if she can’t, we’re going to make it happen either way it goes,” Harris-Dupart said.

The founder of Kaleidoscope has experienced her fair share of health problems, which may make childbirth difficult. A few months ago, the couple appeared on The Tamron Hall Show to discuss their plans to start a family. She admitted to the talk show host that she once spent time in the hospital due to blood clots. “It’s just been a lot but we were not giving up…we want a baby together,” she said optimistically.
