Kate Winslet in Monochrome Floral Headpiece at Prix de Diane Longines 2014
She famously played Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic, and Kate Winslet seemed to be keeping a symbol of that part in her wardrobe. The Hollywood star wore a floral headpiece to the Prix de Diane Longines 2014, which features a black rose as the main focus.
It matched her black and white body con dress which showed off her curvy post-baby figure to perfection. Kate Winslet swept her highlighted-blonde hair into a chic updo as she enjoyed the day with her husband Ned Rockn Roll. The British actor and Sir Richard Branson’s nephew married in 2012 and now are parents to a little boy called Bear after she gave birth last December. ‘Ned is absolutely incredible and he looks after all of us,’ says Winslet of her third husband.
‘The other day, Joe said: “How come there are no other dads in the school run?” And we both went: “It’s because this is the way we’re doing it.” The kids really love that.’ Rockn roll, who changed his name from Edward Lyulph Abel Smith by deed poll, has an understanding boss as he works in marketing for Branson’s Virgin Galactic space programmer.
He met Winslet in 2011 while they were both staying at his uncle’s Caribbean island, Necker, where they escaped a devastating fire. The Oscar-winning actress was holidaying with her then boyfriend; model Louis Dowler, at the time. After a whirlwind romance, she married Ned in New York the following year. They gave their son the middle name Blaze in a reference to their lucky escape.
Winslet, 38, has two older children, Mia, 13, with her first husband Jim Threapleton, and Joe, 10, from her marriage to director Sam Mendes. This year Kate Winslet appeared in the futuristic action drama Divergent opposite Shailene Woodley and Theo James, but she also stepped back in French history to play a female landscape-gardener during the reign of King Louis XIV. In A Little Chaos, Winslet stars as Sabine De Barra who is given the chance to construct the grand gardens at Versailles, but at the same time is drawn into the complex politics of love and life at the Royal court.
