Katie Price Opens Up About Suicidal Thoughts and Overcoming ‘Breaking Point’ After Marriage Breakdown
Katie Price recently opened up about reaching a “breaking point” in her life, where she felt suicide was the only way out. The model and media personality candidly admitted that she “didn’t want to be here anymore” following the collapse of her third marriage.
In an emotional confession, Price, a mother of five, revealed that she attempted to take her own life after enduring a “long breakdown.” She shared that her mental health significantly deteriorated after divorcing her third husband, Kieran Hayler, in 2018. To cope with the heartbreak and suicidal thoughts, Price turned to alcohol and drugs.
Speaking to The Sun, Price detailed the dark period she went through, emphasizing the depth of her despair. “People don’t realize what I’ve been through,” she told the Mail’s You Magazine in an interview. “I just didn’t want to be here anymore. I thought, ‘What’s the point? No one’s here, no one’s helping, no one understands what I am feeling.’”
Price continued, “I woke up from it thinking, ‘What the f***? I can’t do this to my kids.’ I was at breaking point.” Despite her struggles with substance use, she rejected the negative labels often associated with her. “I think there’s this persona of me that I’m a drinker and a cokehead, but I never have been, ever. Yeah, when I was younger, I would go out and get p***ed. Who wouldn’t?”
Price’s honest revelations highlight her battle with mental health issues and the immense pressure she faced during her turbulent personal life. By sharing her story, she aims to shed light on the challenges she has overcome and the importance of seeking help during difficult times.
