The singer, who previously had a long-term contract with RCA and Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records, is now venturing out on her own. This bold move marks the next chapter in Kesha’s career, as she seeks more creative control and independence.
In a statement, Kesha shared her excitement about the new venture, which will be globally distributed through ADA, Warner Music Group’s independent distribution and label services division. “I am proud to announce this partnership for the distribution of my music through Kesha Records,” she told Variety.
This announcement comes after Kesha’s lengthy legal battle with Dr. Luke, a saga that has defined much of her recent career. The Die Young singer had accused Dr. Luke of sexual assault, and while the case has since been settled, it cast a long shadow over her music career. Now, with that chapter behind her, Kesha is taking full control of her future in the music industry.
In addition to her legal struggles, Kesha made headlines last year when she altered the lyrics of her hit song “TikTok” to criticize Sean “Diddy” Combs, who faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
