Piaget will be participating in Only Watch for the sixth year in a row and the luxury watchmaker has announced a one-of-a-kind edition of the Altiplano 900P timepiece for the charity auction. The Piaget Altiplano 900P timepiece is the world’s thinnest hand-wound mechanical watch.[contentblock id=1 img=adsense.png]
Made from 18kt white gold, the Altiplano 900P merges both case elements and the movement, achieving a record-breaking slenderness at 3.65 mm, making it the thinnest watch in the world.[contentblock id=2 img=adsense.png]
To achieve this unbelievable feat, each of the 145 parts composing the Altiplano 38 mm 900P was trimmed to a size barely thicker than a hair’s breadth, including some wheels measuring a mere 0.12 mm thin.[contentblock id=3 img=gcb.png]

To make this timepiece special, Piaget reinterpreted the Altiplano 900P with a red hour and minute hand. The caseback is engraved with the inscription “Only Watch 2015 – unique piece”. The Piaget Altiplano 900P will be auctioned off on November 7 to raise funds for research into more effective treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
