Kimberlee Singler, a mother from Colorado who disappeared before her arrest, was apprehended in the United Kingdom on Saturday. Singler, who had been missing since December 23, faced allegations of murdering her two young children during a contentious custody dispute with her ex-husband.

According to a report by The New York Post, citing the Colorado Springs Police Department, Singler was taken into custody overseas without incident. The arrest occurred over a week after the tragic deaths of her nine-year-old daughter, Elianna “Ellie” Wentz, and her seven-year-old son, Aden Wentz. Additionally, Singler is accused of attempting to murder her 11-year-old daughter.

The police initially responded to a burglary call around 12:30 am on December 19, only to discover a horrifying scene. They found Singler and her eldest child injured, while her two younger children were deceased.

Both Singler and her 11-year-old child received medical treatment on the scene before being transported to local hospitals. Following further investigation, the authorities issued a murder warrant for the 35-year-old mother a week later.

The backdrop of this tragic incident involves Singler’s legal struggles with her ex-husband, Kevin Wentz. The couple had officially divorced in 2020 after separating in 2018, with ongoing disputes over parenting time and related issues. Court filings reveal that Singler had accused Wentz of unfounded child abuse and had sought a temporary protection order against him, which was ultimately denied.

Singler had defied a court order to allow Wentz parenting time with their children, failing to bring them to a scheduled exchange on December 16. This led to a court hearing scheduled for December 20. A judge in Larimer County had decided that Wentz should be granted full custody of the children until a hearing set for January 18, 2024, as reported by KRDO.

Facing charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, child abuse, and assault, Singler’s arrest marks a significant development in this tragic case.
