30-Year-Old Woman’s Body Found in Backseat of Boyfriend’s Car at Gas Station After DUI Stop
The tragic death of Summer Tatiana Roney, 30, has devastated her loved ones, who described her as a “vibrant, kind, and loving soul.” Summer was discovered deceased in the back of her boyfriend Jacob Holt Johnson’s vehicle during a DUI investigation at a 7-Eleven gas station in Bluffdale, Utah, on Tuesday.
Police pulled Johnson over as part of the investigation and, upon inspecting the car, found Summer’s lifeless body in the back seat. A probable cause statement, cited by Fox 13, revealed the victim had “significant injuries and trauma consistent with a homicide.”
Johnson, 30, allegedly confessed to placing Summer’s body in the vehicle. He admitted they were “intimate partners” and had been living together in Herriman. According to the statement, the couple had been arguing, with Johnson reportedly stating the relationship was “over.”
When asked by officers about Summer’s condition, Johnson chillingly admitted to “physical trauma” and said he had “put her into [the car].” He has since been charged with murder. Following the shocking news, Summer’s family released an emotional statement through their legal representative:
“The family of Summer Tatiana Roney is heartbroken by her tragic and untimely loss. Summer was a vibrant, kind, and loving soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was deeply loved by her friends, family, and coworkers, who will always remember her infectious personality and the joy she brought into their lives.
This senseless act has left an unfillable void in our hearts. We ask for privacy during this difficult time as we grieve and remember the incredible person Summer is.” Summer’s mother, Michelle Kellie Tischner, vowed to fight for justice, writing on social media: “I’ll fight for you even when you’re on the other side. I sure could use one of your long hugs right now.”
Friends shared heartfelt tributes on Facebook under the hashtag #JusticeForSummer. One friend recalled their cherished memories: “You always gave me advice and kept me out of trouble. Rest in peace, my beautiful friend. I promise to finish the drawing you wanted for your tattoo.”
Another wrote: “You brought sunshine to everyone you knew. You were taken much too soon in such a horrific way. Love you, fly high, my dear friend.” As the investigation unfolds, Summer’s family and friends continue to honor her memory while seeking justice for her untimely death.
