Mom Visiting Family for Holidays Is Killed in Drive-By Shooting on San Antonio Highway
Rayne Rice Silva and her husband had a woodworking company. A Texas woman visiting relatives for the holidays was tragically shot while traveling in a car on a San Antonio highway, and investigators have no idea who shot her or why.
According to the San Antonio Express-News, Rayne Rice Silva, 27, was in a car driven by her husband on Interstate 10 on Saturday when she was killed in a drive-by shooting by an unknown offender.
According to Fox San Antonio, she was taken to the hospital in severe condition and died on Monday.
According to Univision, she was shot in the head. There were no other passengers were injured.
According to the Express-News, she was from Del Rio, roughly 150 miles west of San Antonio. She was in town for the holidays, according to a GoFundMe campaign set up to aid with her medical and burial expenses.
According to her GoFundMe page, she was the mother of two children, aged 4 and 1. She and her husband co-owned a small firm called Nakomas Woodworking, which makes anything from cutting boards to kitchen cabinets, according to its website.
“Rayne was a terrific friend, selfless and full of life, who committed her love to her children and husband,” according to the GoFundMe page.
