Piers Morgan declared his belief that former President Donald Trump will lose the 2020 election, tweeting a matter-of-fact response to reports that MAGA supporters were calling him a “traitor”, according to Yahoo.

Morgan retweeted a Washingtonpost article titled “MAGA fans rage at ‘TOTAL TRAITOR’ Piers Morgan for telling Trump he’s a loser.” According to the article, some Trump supporters chastised Morgan for not siding with Trump on the former president’s voter fraud claims.

In response, Morgan tweeted on Wednesday evening: “He lost,” accompanied by two laugh-crying emojis.

In a promotional video, Trump can be seen storming out of the interview with Morgan and demanding that the cameras be turned off after what appeared to be a heated exchange in which the former president called the British show host a “fool.”

“You think I’m a fool?” Piers Morgan said.

“I do now, yeah,” Trump replied.

In a column for The Sun, Morgan claimed that the former president stormed out of the interview before it was completed.

“Incensed Trump tried to end things by declaring ‘That’s it!’ before I reminded him that we hadn’t discussed his hole-in-one, which he then sat down again and did — briefly — before abruptly jumping to his feet, looking hateful, and barking at the shocked crew: ‘TURN THE CAMERAS OFF!’” Morgan wrote. “Then he turned on his heels, and sloped angrily off through a side door, loudly muttering ‘SO dishonest…’”

Trump’s team has since released audio of the interview, claiming that it refutes Morgan’s claims that the former president abruptly ended it.

According to Trump’s communications director Taylor Budowich told NBC News, Morgan dragged out what was supposed to be a 20-minute interview for more than an hour.

Morgan’s 75-minute interview with Trump will now air on TalkTV on April 25 at 8 p.m.
