In a recent event organized by Rep. Darrell Issa in California, Gold Star families, who lost their loved ones during the Afghanistan withdrawal, expressed their grievances and feelings.

These families were deeply affected by the withdrawal process, which saw 13 U.S. servicemembers lose their lives due to a suicide bombing at the airport, as crowds sought to leave the country before the Taliban’s takeover.

President Joe Biden later termed the withdrawal as a “success.” Critics of President Biden have raised concerns over his reactions and responses to various incidents during his tenure.

They mention his interactions with potential voters during campaign events and debates, and some argue that there have been inconsistencies in his statements, according to the NY Post.

A notable example was his conversation with a Gold Star mother, where he related to her loss, referencing his own son Beau’s passing in Iraq.

Furthermore, discussions about the 2012 Benghazi incident have resurfaced, with some pointing out perceived discrepancies in the narratives provided by then-officials Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Some are concerned that the ongoing media focus on Hunter Biden could evolve into a political talking point similar to Benghazi.

“When [Biden] approached me, his words to me were, ‘My wife, Jill & I, know how you feel. We lost our son as well and brought him home in a flag-draped coffin.'”

“My heart started beating faster & I started shaking, knowing that their son died from cancer & they were able to be by his side.”

“How could someone be so heartless to say he knew how I felt.”
