“His Bag Was Stolen at Gunpoint” Secret Service Agent Robbed During Biden’s California Visit

On Saturday, June 15, just after 9:30 p.m., officers from the Tustin Police Department responded to a report of a possible robbery at the Tustin Fields 1 residential community in California. The incident occurred while President Joe Biden was in the state for a high-profile fundraiser event in Los Angeles. Local law enforcement confirmed that a Secret Service agent was held hostage during the incident.
Reportedly, the robbery took place while the agent was returning from a work assignment. A press statement from the Tustin Police Department detailed that at around 9:36 p.m., police responded to the report of a possible robbery. A member of the Secret Service was among the victims, and his bag was stolen at gunpoint.
The statement further noted, “Officers have located some of the victim’s belongings in the area, and the incident is still being investigated. There is no known threat to the public.” According to Mediate, the Secret Service also released a statement confirming the incident: “A member of the U.S. Secret Service was the victim of an armed robbery in Tustin, California late Saturday when returning from a work assignment.
The employee discharged their service weapon during the incident, but it is unknown if the assailants were struck. We are thankful that the employee did not sustain any injuries.” Just before the incident, Biden had returned to his hotel after a star-studded campaign event in Los Angeles, where he and former President Barack Obama spoke, with Jimmy Kimmel serving as moderator.
The event featured a host of celebrities, including George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Jason Bateman, Jack Black, and Barbra Streisand, and raised almost $28 million for Biden’s reelection campaign, according to The Wrap. Kimmel, who hosted the show, humorously referred to Donald Trump with nicknames like “Orange Julius Caesar” and “Nostra-Dumbass,” while moderating the discussion.
He also made light of Biden’s recent meeting with the Pope, joking that Biden is “fighting for the soul of America” and suggesting the nation “needs an exorcism.” Kimmel kicked off the event by showing a video montage of Trump’s 2020 campaign promises, such as increasing jobs and improving the economy, intercut with Biden making similar pledges. The montage included a clip of Trump claiming that no holidays, including Easter, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July, would be observed under Biden’s presidency, followed by footage of Biden celebrating these holidays.
Meanwhile, Trump has been impressively fundraising. At a meeting with major donors at billionaire businessman John Paulson’s Florida mansion, he raised $50.5 million, surpassing Biden’s April event in New York. In May, Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee reported a staggering $141 million, bolstered by donations following Trump’s conviction in his criminal hush money case.
