Donald Trump Jr., 46, and Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, 38, have been making waves with their budding romance, but not everyone in Trump’s circle is on board. Insiders close to the Trump family are reportedly in damage-control mode, attempting to convince Don Jr. to reconsider his relationship with Anderson.

One major issue is Anderson’s perceived lack of “MAGA credentials.” Her past support for the Black Lives Matter movement and strict COVID-19 restrictions have raised eyebrows among Don Jr.’s staunchly conservative allies. According to a source, some worry she’s not “MAGA enough” to fit into the family’s political and social circles.

The timing of their relationship has also drawn scrutiny. The pair reportedly started dating just weeks before Donald Trump’s January 2025 inauguration, where Bettina is expected to make her public debut as part of the Trump family. Some insiders fear this could create unnecessary distractions for the incoming administration.

“It’s one thing to worry about Palm Beach shenanigans making a stop at Mar-a-Lago,” a source told the Daily Mail. “But to let those problems penetrate the White House is a new level of trouble.”

Adding fuel to the fire, rumors suggest Anderson’s interest in Don Jr. may be more about climbing the social ladder than genuine affection. Critics point to her influencer lifestyle and love for high-profile connections as potential red flags. “She’s just in it for the perks,” claimed one Trump associate.

Despite the backlash, Don Jr. appears unfazed. A close friend told the Daily Mail that he hasn’t shared any concerns about the criticism with his inner circle. “That’s just the world of Palm Beach and the universe they live in,” the friend said. “It’s not really a surprise to either that people are s**t talking.”

Anderson has faced additional scrutiny for her role in Don Jr.’s breakup with Kimberly Guilfoyle, to whom he had been engaged for four years. The split became public in December, just hours before President-elect Trump announced Guilfoyle’s appointment as Ambassador to Greece.

Supporters of Anderson, including fashion designer Stacey Bendet, have come to her defense. “She’s the kindest soul, she has the biggest heart, she is witty and wise,” Bendet said. “Don adores her for good reasons!”

Still, critics remain skeptical. Some accuse Anderson of leveraging her relationship with Don Jr. for publicity, with rumors swirling that she may have her sights set on tech billionaire Elon Musk, a prominent figure in Trump’s orbit. “We want to protect the Trump brand and don’t want her close to the family,” one insider said.
