Get ready for an increased presence of Vice President Kamala Harris.

The significant role that Harris is poised to assume in President Joe Biden’s bid for reelection has been outlined in a campaign memorandum released on Friday, coinciding with the third anniversary of Biden’s selection of Harris as his running mate.

The memo, penned by Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s reelection campaign manager, and senior adviser Becca Siegel, emphasizes Harris’ distinctive appeal among key voter groups crucial to securing victory in the 2024 elections.

In the upcoming year, the vice president will be strategically deployed to consolidate support for Biden within constituencies forming the bedrock of the Biden-Harris alliance. This includes outreach to young individuals, people from diverse racial backgrounds, and women.

Chavez Rodriguez lauds the vice president as an unwavering advocate on issues of paramount importance to the core supporters of the Biden-Harris coalition. Harris is set to champion topics cherished by the Democratic base, such as reproductive rights, voting rights, gun control, and climate change.

Recently, Harris took a trip to Chicago to lead an event for Everytown for Gun Safety, a nonprofit organization founded after the tragic Sandy Hook school shooting.

This role may offer Harris an opportunity to redefine her image following a tenure as vice president marked by a blend of accomplishments and challenges.

Harris was entrusted with a portfolio encompassing notably thorny matters, including the migrant surge and threats to voting rights, where solutions are hampered by a lack of legislative momentum.

As of the latest figures on Friday, her overall polling numbers remained modest, with 52.1% expressing disapproval, in contrast to 38.8% who expressed approval, as reported by the polling average from FiveThirtyEight.

Nonetheless, the desire to see Harris on the campaign trail isn’t confined to Democrats alone. For Republicans, the California Democrat has proven to be a convenient target in political attack advertisements ever since her entry onto the national political stage.
