House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) suggested Tuesday that investigations involving former President Joe Biden and his family may not be over, regardless of potential pardons. His remarks hinted at future inquiries into both the Biden family and debunked claims about the January 6 Capitol riot.

During an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Jordan discussed his intentions alongside other GOP House leaders. Hannity posed a pointed question about the potential implications of presidential pardons. “Here’s the big question: is this over?” Hannity asked.

“Because my understanding is once you get a pardon, you no longer have a Fifth Amendment right to remain silent. If they go before your committees – every one of these pardoned family members – don’t they have to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help them, God?”

Jordan responded with a commitment to further investigations, saying, “There are a number of things our committee wants to review… Everything’s on the table.” He also referenced a recent report concerning 26 confidential human sources linked to the January 6 attack, a claim repeatedly debunked but still touted among right-wing circles, reported Raw Story.

The discussion then shifted to conspiracies surrounding the Capitol riot. Hannity claimed that former President Donald Trump had authorized the National Guard days before the riot, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “did nothing.” Jordan echoed these sentiments, alleging misinformation spread by the January 6 select committee.

“Not to mention the number of false things that committee put out on me, on you, on so many people,” Jordan said. “There are some unanswered questions we have to get to, so we will look at that.” As the interview concluded, Hannity praised Jordan and House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY), labeling them “rock stars” and advising transparency in their continued investigations.

“I would let the American people know the truth, pardon or not, and let’s see if they tell the truth when they have to, under oath,” Hannity said. Notably, a report from the Department of Justice’s Office of Inspector General found “no evidence” to support claims that undercover FBI agents instigated the January 6 Capitol riot, contradicting the narratives promoted during the interview. Nonetheless, Jordan’s remarks suggest the GOP may continue pursuing these claims, along with further probes into the Biden family.
