Lauren Boebert Faces Online Mockery for Height but Remains Steadfast in Her Support for Trump
Lauren Boebert, a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, often shares photos with the Trump family, despite the noticeable height difference between her and the towering Trumps. This disparity has sparked amusement among netizens, but it hasn’t deterred the Colorado representative from posing with the political family.
In April 2023, Boebert shared a photo with former First Lady Melania Trump to wish her a happy birthday, writing, “She [Melania] proves that age is nothing but a number. Many blessings on this day!” The post quickly led to online mockery. According to Nicki Swift, commenters on social media took the opportunity to poke fun at Boebert’s small stature.
“You look like a four-year-old,” one X user joked. Another asked, “Did you photoshop yourself in here?” One user humorously referred to her as a “hobbit standing next to Donald and Melania,” while another chimed in, “Did someone apply a shrink gun? Small but mighty.”
This wasn’t the first time Boebert was teased for her height. In March 2023, she posted another picture, this time with Eric and Lara Trump, congratulating Lara on her new role with the Republican National Committee. One user commented, “I had no idea you were that short!” The frequent jabs at her height, however, don’t seem to bother Boebert, who often incorporates her stature into her political messaging.
Boebert has been vocal about how her size informs her stance on gun rights. In a March 2021 tweet, she wrote, “The Left’s gun control agenda will affect America’s women more than anyone else. I’m a five-foot-tall, 100-pound woman. The only way I’m safe to walk around any dangerous liberal city is with an equalizer. Gun control is anti-woman.”
She made a similar point in 2020, stating that as a businesswoman, she carried a gun for protection: “I don’t wear a gun on my hip to make a statement. I wear it because I’m 5 feet tall and spend a lot of time alone in my restaurant making sure things are perfect.”
Boebert’s ambitions stretch beyond the House of Representatives. According to The Hill, she has her sights set on a position in a potential Trump administration, candidly expressing her desire to serve as the Secretary of the Interior. “I think this is actually one of the most important agencies within the federal government,” she stated, emphasizing her connection to public and tribal lands.
In the upcoming November election, Boebert, who previously represented Colorado’s 3rd District, is challenging Trisha Calvarese for the seat in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. Despite the online trolling, Boebert remains a vocal and visible figure in the GOP.
