Rep. Lauren Boebert Predicts ‘Mighty Army’ Will Help Republicans Reclaim Colorado
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) expressed her belief on Wednesday that God will send a “mighty army” to help Republicans defeat the left in Colorado, as the state has shifted from being largely conservative to a Democratic stronghold in recent years.
Boebert, who narrowly won re-election in 2022 and now represents a more conservative district, made these remarks while speaking to Mike Davis, a far-right former law clerk, on Steve Bannon’s War Room show. Davis began by reminiscing about the days when Colorado was a Republican-dominated state.
“I moved to Colorado in 2006,” said Davis. “It was in a pretty Republican state at the time. We controlled the governor’s office, lieutenant governor, all the statewide offices, the legislature, a majority of the House seats, and it’s gone very blue, very blue since then.”
Boebert echoed this sentiment, explaining how Democrats methodically took over the state through a strategic blueprint that started at the local level. “Yes, we only have 19 Republicans serving in the House, and the Democrats had a blueprint,” she said. “They started at the local level and worked their way all the way up… Republicans were caught sleeping, sitting on their hands, and not doing much.”
She detailed how Republicans lost key positions, from school boards to statehouse seats, and even the governor’s office. However, Boebert remained optimistic, theorizing that many conservatives had fled to other states but that there was still a “remnant” of people who would rise up against liberal policies.
“They’ve moved to more free states like Florida and Texas and even Tennessee,” Boebert explained. “But there is still a remnant that is left that I believe God will use to stand up as a mighty army against these policies that are destroying us.”
Boebert frequently invokes Christian nationalist rhetoric in her political work. She also claimed in the past that God used her as an instrument of retribution in the ousting of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, which led to significant disruption within the Republican Party.
As Boebert looks ahead to the November 5th election, she emphasized her role in rallying more Republicans to join her fight. “I need more folks who will fight alongside me,” she said. “So I’m doing everything I can to make sure Republicans win.”
