“Just Shut Up!”: Megyn Kelly Rages Against Michelle Obama’s Criticism of America
Megyn Kelly launched into a fiery criticism of former First Lady Michelle Obama on her SiriusXM radio show Monday, urging Obama to “just shut up” about her grievances with America. This tirade followed a recent speech by Mrs. Obama in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she voiced her frustrations with the continued acceptance of Donald Trump as a serious political figure.
In her speech, Obama didn’t hold back, addressing Trump’s controversial history and his ongoing influence on U.S. politics. “I hope that you will forgive me if I’m a little angry that we are indifferent to his erratic behavior, his obvious mental decline, his history as a convicted felon, a known slumlord, a predator found liable for sexual abuse,” Obama said.
She continued, “…while we pick apart Kamala’s answers from interviews that he doesn’t even have the courage to do, y’all.” Obama also expressed her concerns about the disregard for women’s issues, stating, “Do not put our hands in the lives of politicians—mostly men—who have no clue or do not care about what we as women are going through.”
Kelly, who once said she would “walk over broken glass” for Trump, responded angrily to Obama’s remarks, accusing her of ingratitude. “I’m so sick and tired of Michelle Obama whining about how racist and sexist America is,” Kelly ranted.
“We made her rich and famous and beloved beyond any measure. Everything she has is due to this country… her Martha’s Vineyard estate her Chicago estate her Washington, D.C. estate, and her Hawaii estate… All of your gifts are due to us. All we want to hear you say is, ‘Thank you.’”
Kelly also suggested that Democrats were eager to replace Joe Biden with Obama, questioning the sincerity behind their support for Vice President Kamala Harris. “The Democrats were on bended knee with two dozen red roses, begging Michelle Obama to run, especially when Joe Biden started to implode,” Kelly claimed.
“Is it just Kamala Harris’ race and gender? Only when it’s in the name and face of Kamala Harris being a person of color and a woman will stop you?” Known for her often controversial opinions, including past statements claiming that Jesus and Santa Claus are white, and defending blackface as a Halloween costume, Kelly’s latest comments add to her history of provocative media moments.
In her view, Obama’s criticisms of the country that “gave her everything” only highlight what she sees as the former First Lady’s lack of gratitude, reducing Obama’s concerns to what Kelly called “whining” and demanding that Obama “just shut up” in acknowledgment of her success in America.
