As reported by The New York Times, Grisham recalls how Melania Trump seemed to have been “unleashed” after the scandal hit the headlines. In a telling move, Melania allegedly selected a notably handsome military aide to accompany her to all official Capitol events, a decision Grisham saw as a form of punishment. “I laughed to myself because I had seen the woman navigate dirt roads in her heels,” Grisham wrote, reflecting on the First Lady’s composure and strategic thinking.
Further actions by Melania included editing her husband out of pictures and tweets, a clear sign of disassociation from both the man and the scandal, as detailed by CNN. Grisham noted, “I felt that Mrs. Trump was embarrassed and that she wanted him to feel embarrassed, too. Whether he is capable of that or not, I don’t know,” indicating a deep personal rift within the marital dynamic.
One of the most striking anecdotes involved Melania’s deliberate decision to distance herself physically from Donald Trump. “I received a call from her to let me know that she wanted to drive to Air Force One ahead of her husband. She surprised me, saying ‘I do not want to be like Hillary Clinton, do you understand what I mean?
