In a candid interview on Fox & Friends, Melania Trump shared a surprising detail about her personal life with former President Donald Trump, revealing that he wanted more children after their son Barron. The Slovenian-born former first lady appeared on the show to promote her memoir, Melania and openly discussed her husband’s desire for a larger family. This revelation quickly became fodder for late-night comedians, including Seth Meyers.

During a segment on Late Night, Meyers addressed Melania’s interview, saying, “Melania Trump also said that former President Trump would have liked to have had more kids after having their son Barron.” He then followed with a sharp punchline, “Well, don’t feel bad. There’s a very good chance he did,” alluding to Trump’s numerous affairs and sexual encounters that have been publicized in recent years, as reported by HuffPost.

Melania’s remarks came during her conversation with Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt. Reflecting on her life as a mother, she stated, “I was always perfectly fine with one. And Donald was encouraging [us] to have more. And I said, like, ‘I’m completely fine with one because it’s [a] very busy life.’ I know how busy he is… and I’m in charge of everything. So that’s why. It’s just perfect,” according to PEOPLE.

Melania and Donald Trump’s relationship began when they met during his divorce from his second wife, Marla Maples. According to the New York Post, the couple rekindled their romance with Melania gushing about her “handsome and strong” boyfriend. They dated for several years before Trump proposed at the 2004 Met Gala, and they married on January 22, 2005. Later that year, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together. While Trump expressed his surprise at how quickly they conceived, he said he was “very happy.”

Their son, Barron William Trump, was born on March 20, 2006, becoming the only child of the former first couple. Due to Melania’s preference for privacy, Barron was raised away from the media spotlight, residing in Trump Tower in Manhattan. Melania ensured that her son was shielded from the intense scrutiny her husband faced, particularly during his presidential campaign.

After completing elementary school in New York, Melania and Barron moved to Palm Beach, Florida, where Barron attended Oxbridge Academy. In May 2024, Barron graduated and chose to attend NYU’s Stern School of Business. Melania told Earhardt, “I raised Barron as [his] own person and gave him his own yes and nos. I respect that. It was his decision to come here that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that.”

Apart from Barron, Donald Trump has four other children—Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka Trump with his first wife, Ivana, and Tiffany Trump with his second wife, Marla Maples.
