Melania Trump’s Body Language Raises Questions About Her Support for Donald Trump
Since Melania Trump announced her upcoming memoir, she has primarily used her social media accounts to promote the book. In one excerpt, the former first lady offers uncharacteristic praise for her husband, Donald Trump, as he prepares for the 2024 election. However, some experts suggest that Melania’s public support for Donald may not be as genuine as it seems.
In an exclusive interview with The List, body language expert Traci Brown analyzed two videos of Melania Trump, providing insights into what her nonverbal cues might reveal about her true feelings. Brown’s analysis focused on subtle gestures and expressions that could indicate discomfort or lack of sincerity.
The first video Brown examined was a clip from a longer Fox & Friends interview shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). In this snippet, Melania discusses why she believes her husband should be re-elected in 2024, claiming that Donald Trump’s administration was better for the country than President Joe Biden’s. “So I think American people need to decide what they really want,” Melania said, adding, “Maybe some, you know, strong tweets, but everything else great for this country.”
According to Brown, Melania’s body language told a different story. She noted that Melania shrugged with one shoulder while making this statement, a gesture that typically signals uncertainty or insincerity. Brown explained, “That shrug was significant—it’s a sign she didn’t feel what she said.” Brown also pointed out that Melania subtly shook her head after this remark, further suggesting a disconnect between her words and her true feelings.
Another moment that caught Brown’s attention was when Melania described Donald as “really a family man.” Given the Trump family’s history of affair rumors, Brown found this statement particularly ironic. She noted that Melania shrugged with one shoulder again, indicating possible doubt about the accuracy of her words.
Later in the same Fox & Friends interview, Melania spoke about Donald’s intentions for the country. “And all he wants to build [is] better and prosperous,” she said. Brown highlighted another telling body language cue: a double-shoulder shrug. This gesture, Brown suggested, could indicate that Melania believes Donald’s aspirations might extend beyond what she stated publicly.
In a second video analyzed by Brown, also from Fox & Friends, Melania was asked to describe Donald in a few words. Her eyes darted to the right before she answered, which Brown interpreted as a sign that Melania was searching for something to say on the fly. Ultimately, Melania described her husband as “caring, caring especially for this country.” While the words were positive, Brown suggested that Melania’s hesitancy cast doubt on the strength of her convictions.
However, not all of Melania’s gestures were incongruent. When asked about what she and Donald enjoy doing together, Melania mentioned having dinner as their favorite activity. In this case, Brown felt that Melania was being genuine, as her body language appeared to align with her words. “She seems congruent,” Brown said, noting that Melania’s enthusiasm for this answer seemed authentic.
As Melania Trump continues her press tour for her memoir, her body language will likely remain under scrutiny. While she may project confidence and support for her husband, experts like Traci Brown suggest that her nonverbal cues could tell a more complex story.
