“The Gates of Hell Will Be Unleashed”: Michael Flynn Escalates Rhetoric in Support of Trump’s Return

Michael Flynn, Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser, has taken his apocalyptic rhetoric to alarming new heights, according to Ja’han Jones of MSNBC’s ReidOut Blog. Once a key figure in Trump’s administration, Flynn was fired after lying to federal investigators about his ties to Russia and later pardoned by Trump.
Since then, Flynn has embraced extreme conspiracy theories and established close ties with the QAnon movement, which believes Trump is destined to save America from a global cabal of Satanic child sex traffickers. Flynn, who has previously suggested that the U.S. should undergo a military coup like the one in Myanmar, recently showed no sign of stepping away from such dangerous ideas.
At the Rod of Iron Freedom Festival—a gathering sponsored by a radical sect of the Unification Church that worships the AR-15 as a sacred weapon—Flynn delivered a speech that took his rhetoric even further. When an attendee asked Flynn about the possibility of military tribunals and executions of Trump’s enemies, Flynn responded with a chilling promise: “I think a lot of people actually think as you do, and I think that that’s your right and our privilege. …
There’s a way to get after this, but we have to win first.” He continued, “I’m about winning. We have to win. And these people are already up to no good. So, we gotta win first. We win, and then, ‘Katy, bar the door.’ OK? Believe me: The gates of hell — my hell — will be unleashed.”
Flynn’s comments came as former President Trump himself has been floating the idea of using military force against his critics if re-elected. Flynn’s ominous rhetoric raises concerns that he could play a central role in any such violent plans.
Jones warned that Flynn’s latest remarks reflect a deepening extremism among Trump’s most loyal followers. Flynn’s willingness to promote the idea of unleashing “hell” on Trump’s enemies is a clear indication that his views remain dangerously out of step with democratic norms. “All of this,” Jones concluded, “comes as Trump is now openly floating the idea of deploying the military against his critics if he’s elected.
It’s easy to imagine Flynn being part of that violent plan.” Flynn’s words and actions continue to cast a shadow over American politics, with his incendiary rhetoric and dangerous alliances serving as a troubling reminder of how far some are willing to go to secure Trump’s return to power.
