Republican Lawmaker Urges Trump to Form Elite Security Force Amid Rising Safety Concerns

A New Jersey Republican raised concerns about President-elect Donald Trump’s safety, suggesting the Secret Service alone may not be enough to protect him when he returns to the White House. Rep. Jeff Van Drew proposed Trump should assemble his own elite security force alongside federal protection.
During an interview on the right-wing Benny Johnson Show on Tuesday, Van Drew revealed he frequently speaks with Trump and has personally advised him to take additional precautions. “I tell him, ‘You should be so careful,’ and I believe, at this point, he should have his own elite group,” Van Drew said.
“Whether it’s the Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, whoever else – along with the Secret Service just to protect him – the bowels of Hell are going to be opened up against him.” Van Drew’s dramatic remarks follow two reported assassination plots targeting Trump in the past five months, heightening safety concerns surrounding the incoming president.
He added that Trump’s agenda, particularly the Republican Party’s push to overhaul the federal government, has made him a primary target. “We are trying to make the most significant change – in a good way, in a good way – to our American government that has been made in modern history,” Van Drew explained.
“It’s a big deal and there’s going to be a lot of people who are going to want to stop it.” The conversation took another turn when host Benny Johnson referenced recent sightings of unidentified drones flying over Trump’s residence in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he spends part of the year, Reuters reports.
“They’re flying over his home – the dude lives in New Jersey for half the year,” Johnson said. “So, the president lives in New Jersey, and there are these aircraft that nobody’s been forthcoming with us about, what they are or where they’re from, and they’re flying over President Trump’s house – are we a real country?”
The combination of mystery drones and Trump’s ambitious proposals has amplified speculation among right-wing figures regarding his safety. While the Secret Service is the primary agency tasked with protecting the president, Van Drew’s call for an “elite group” highlights growing paranoia among Trump allies as he prepares to take office.
As Trump prepares for his return to the White House, concerns over his security and the political resistance his administration may face are becoming increasingly prominent talking points among his supporters.
