“Trump Once Again Trying to Pay Stormy Daniels to Stay Silent,” Reveals Rachel Maddow
In a stunning revelation, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reported that former President Donald Trump is once again attempting to silence Stormy Daniels just weeks before an election, despite currently awaiting sentencing on 34 felony charges related to hush money payments from the 2016 campaign.
During a breaking news segment on Wednesday night, Maddow disclosed the new details. “We have just learned, we have reported out – 20 days before this election – we can report that he is once again trying to pay Stormy Daniels to be quiet,” Maddow announced as part of her special report.
Expressing her shock at the news, Maddow said she was “a little bit bewildered by it, as well as a little bit shocked.” Trump was convicted earlier this year of making illegal hush money payments to Daniels just 11 days before the 2016 election, which ultimately led to 34 felony charges.
The new information surfaced after Stormy Daniels made an appearance on Maddow’s show, “The Rachel Maddow Show.” Daniels had launched a GoFundMe page that successfully raised enough money to cover hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees she owed from Trump-related cases.
Maddow explained that during Daniels’ negotiations to settle the remaining amount she owed Trump, his legal team attempted to make yet another deal with her. “They want to cut some sort of deal where they silence you,” Daniels’ attorney is heard telling the adult film star in a video that Daniels recorded.
Maddow further revealed, “In the midst of this negotiation over paying off the last legal settlement between them, Trump is trying to get another hush money deal with Stormy Daniels ahead of this election. Trump’s lawyer basically offered to take it off the bottom line. They would pretend that Stormy Daniels owed less money to Trump than they actually believed she owed if she also signed an agreement to not talk about Trump.”
Recalling the 2016 hush money incident, Maddow reminded viewers that Trump paid Daniels $130,000 in hush money just days before that election. “When he paid her $130,000 in hush money before the 2016 election, that turned into 34 felony convictions for Trump because a jury found he illegally laundered those payments through his business to cover it up,” she said.
According to Maddow’s report, newly uncovered legal documents and a recorded phone call suggest that Trump’s team had plans to launder this latest hush money payment through the settlement of a legal judgment against Daniels. The revelation raises further questions as Trump faces legal battles leading into another critical election period.
