Michael Cohen, once a close aide to Donald Trump, has continued to reveal scandalous details about the former president in his book Disloyal: The True Story of the Former Personal Attorney to President Donald J Trump. Among the revelations, Cohen details Trump’s cavalier attitude towards his marriage, quoting him as saying, “I can always get another wife.

That’s no problem for me if she wants to go…so be it,” as reported by The Sun. Cohen, who served as Trump’s personal attorney and fixer for over a decade, portrays Trump as a man unfazed by the prospect of his wife, Melania Trump, leaving him. This indifference, according to Cohen, stems from Trump’s view of marriage as “just another deal…plain and simple.”

This revelation came into sharp focus particularly after adult film star Stormy Daniels made allegations against Trump. When Cohen warned that Melania would likely be upset by the news, Trump reportedly dismissed the concern, citing his wife’s Eastern European background as a reason she would be unforgiving of such transgressions.

Further complicating the portrait of Trump’s personal life, Cohen alleges that Trump saw potential in having Daniels appear on The Apprentice, believing her involvement would boost the show’s ratings. “Man, she would have been great for ratings. And great for me,” Trump is quoted as having said about Daniels.

The book also gives insight into a strained conversation Cohen had with Melania regarding the Daniels affair. Despite attempting to convey Trump’s narrative, Melania cut him off, saying, “I know all of this.” Cohen interpreted her response as indicative of her disbelief and disinterest in the fabricated stories being presented, as per BBC.

Disloyal was released on September 8, 2020, and represented Cohen’s attempt at public redemption, acknowledging his previous misdeeds while employed by Trump. However, the book also paints a rather unflattering picture of Trump, which has been met with strong criticism from his camp. Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany denounced Cohen’s credibility, labeling him a “disgraced felon and disbarred lawyer, who lied to Congress.”

Despite the pushback, as Trump’s hush money trial unfolds in New York, several witnesses have reportedly corroborated some of Cohen’s claims, adding layers of complexity to the ongoing legal and public relations battles surrounding the former president.
