“Lori Vallow Daybell, Convicted of Killing Her Two Children and a Romantic Rival, Plans to Appeal to Idaho Supreme Court”

Attorneys for Lori Vallow Daybell recently filed an appeal notice after her life sentence for the murders of her two youngest kids and another woman she perceived as competition in love.

The appeal aims to challenge several decisions, including the judge’s determination of her mental competency for trial. Following nearly 10 months in a mental health facility, Vallow Daybell was declared fit for court.

Additionally, the appeal contends violations of her right to a swift trial and raises concerns over jury selection, evidence handling, and other legal processes.

The case painted a complex picture of Vallow Daybell, 50, portraying her as someone who labeled her kids as “zombies” and saw herself as a deity heralding an apocalypse.

In May, she was convicted of murdering 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow, and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan, and plotting against Tammy Daybell, the prior wife of her fifth husband. She received three life terms.

Meanwhile, her spouse, Chad Daybell, is set to face trial for similar accusations.

In addition, Vallow Daybell faces charges in Arizona, implicated in conspiracies to murder her fourth spouse in 2019 and her niece’s former husband. The latter survived an assassination attempt that same year. Her plea on these Arizona charges remains pending.
