Trump Calls for Kamala Harris to Be ‘Impeached and Prosecuted’ Amid Heated Border Debate
During a rally on Sunday, former President Donald Trump ramped up his rhetoric, calling for Vice President Kamala Harris to be “impeached and prosecuted” over her handling of the southern U.S. border. Trump, known for his fiery remarks, blamed Harris for the border crisis, claiming, “People were murdered because of her action at the border, and thousands more will follow in rapid succession.” He insisted, “She should be impeached and prosecuted for her actions.”
This isn’t the first time Trump has launched personal attacks on Harris. At another rally on Saturday, he escalated his rhetoric, referring to Harris as “mentally disabled” and “mentally impaired.” He went further on Sunday, adding, “Crooked Joe Biden became mentally impaired — sad. But lying Kamala Harris, honestly, I believe she was born that way.” Minutes later, he called her a “stupid person,” which was met with chants of “lock her up” from the crowd.
Trump’s attacks on Harris have often focused on her gender and race, and as the 2024 presidential campaign heats up, his criticism has only intensified. His comments reflect a broader pattern of targeting his political opponents, including previous threats to prosecute Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and election officials.

Harris, on the other hand, has frequently addressed Trump’s role in the border issue. She noted his involvement in derailing a bipartisan border deal earlier in Congress, which many believe could have addressed key aspects of the current crisis. During her recent visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, Harris stated, “Even though Donald Trump tried to sabotage the border security bill, it is my pledge to you that as president of the United States, I will bring it back up and proudly sign it into law.”
Polling shows that Trump currently holds the upper hand on border security, with an NBC News poll indicating that 54% of registered voters believe he would handle immigration better than Harris, who garnered just 33%.
While Harris’ campaign didn’t immediately respond to Trump’s latest remarks, her spokesperson, Sarafina Chitika, criticized Trump’s rally rhetoric, saying he had “nothing ‘inspiring’ to offer the American people, just darkness.”

Trump’s harsh language has even drawn criticism from within his own party. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer and Senator Lindsey Graham both suggested that Trump should focus on policy rather than personal attacks. Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, a Republican, also condemned the remarks, calling them “insulting” to people with mental disabilities.
With the election fast approaching, Trump’s aggressive attacks on Harris show no signs of slowing down, while Harris continues to emphasize policy solutions.
