Prince Harry Accused of ‘Twisting the Narrative’ Over King Charles Snub, Says Royal Expert

Prince Harry has been accused of “twisting the narrative” regarding King Charles’s refusal to meet with him during his recent visit to the UK. This criticism arose following Harry’s demand to see his father, who was reportedly battling health issues, during his trip to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

A royal expert claimed that the Duke of Sussex used the situation to his advantage, portraying himself as a victim while framing his father, King Charles, as unsympathetic. The incident sparked controversy as it added fuel to the ongoing public dispute between Harry and the rest of the royal family.

During a discussion on GB News, host Emily Carver accused Harry of intentionally distorting the facts. “He’s twisting the narrative to fit his victimhood,” Carver stated. “It’s like he’s deliberately trying to play the victim, when in reality, there may be more to the story.”

“Prince Harry was coming to the UK anyway for this Invictus Games event. He didn’t bring his children with him, didn’t bring his wife,” she said. “He clearly hadn’t intended to necessarily use this trip as a get-together as an olive branch to his father. But yet he gets his spokesperson to say it’s the King’s diary that’s far too full?”

To this, royal expert and biographer, Angela Levin agreed, and said, “Harry could have made an effort. I don’t think it would be a good idea to go to the garden party, because the King has to go round to everybody else. “But he could have actually said if I see you just for a few minutes afterward, I know you’re very tired, but let me pop round. I think he’s demanding. He doesn’t give in, he won’t compromise. And it’s really, really sad,” she added.

She went on to claim that Harry only wanted to meet with the King in order to “be seen” with the Royal Family ahead of his planned trip to Nigeria with Meghan Markle. “He wanted to be seen with his father so that when he and Meghan go to Nigeria, he can imply that the Royal Family actually agrees with what he’s doing and is supporting him.”

The incident unfolded as Prince Harry returned to the UK to attend the Invictus Games’ 10th-anniversary celebrations. Despite his father’s alleged illness, King Charles declined to meet with his son. This refusal reportedly angered Harry, who felt his father should have made time for a personal meeting given the circumstances.

Carver suggested that Harry may have exaggerated the severity of the situation to gain public sympathy. “It’s not uncommon for people to embellish the truth, especially when they want to rally support for their cause,” she added. “Harry knows how to manipulate the media, and he’s using that skill here.”
