Meghan Markle Accused of Stealing Kate Middleton’s Spotlight with Upcoming Colombia Tour Told Royal Expert

Meghan Markle is facing criticism for allegedly overshadowing Kate Middleton with her upcoming tour to Colombia alongside Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex has been accused of setting up what some are calling a “faux Royal tour,” focusing on a cause that is notably close to Kate’s heart.
Royal expert Tom Quinn discussed the matter with The Mirror, suggesting that the timing and focus of Meghan and Harry’s tour may not be coincidental. “What’s tempted Harry and Meghan—though no exact dates for the tour have yet been agreed—is that Colombia is to hold the Global Conference on Ending Violence Against Children later this year.
For Meghan, this could be a boost for the Archwell Foundation, whose concern with the welfare of children was praised by the Colombian vice-president,” Quinn explained. Quinn further elaborated on the involvement of Colombia’s Vice President, Francia Márquez, who extended the invitation to the couple. “Francia Márquez praised the couple’s Archwell Foundation and what she described as its ‘global leadership in fostering a safer online environment.’
This will have been music to Meghan’s ears,” Quinn noted. However, he also pointed out that this move has not gone unnoticed by the Royal Family back in the UK. “Palace officials in the UK are irritated that once again Meghan and Harry are trying to steal Kate’s thunder,” Quinn stated. He emphasized that Kate’s longstanding commitment to child welfare has been a central aspect of her role within the Royal Family, making Meghan’s focus on a similar cause during her tour appear as an attempt to overshadow the Duchess of Cambridge.
As Meghan and Harry prepare for their Colombia tour, the timing and focus of their efforts have sparked controversy, with some viewing it as an attempt to eclipse Kate Middleton’s well-established work in child welfare. While the tour may offer significant opportunities for the Archwell Foundation, it has also reignited tensions between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, highlighting the ongoing friction between the two camps.
