Meghan Markle Reportedly Heartbroken Over Decision to Leave Royal Life, Reflects on Sacrifices Made
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was reportedly heartbroken over her decision to step down as a senior member of the Royal Family. Alongside Prince Harry, Meghan left her role as a working royal, a move she later regretted due to the significant sacrifices she made to fit into the royal system.
According to the Irish Times, Omid Scobie revealed in his writing, “The courtiers blame Meghan, and some family members do as well. She, on the other hand, felt she had sacrificed a lot for the royals.” Scobie further shared a poignant moment from March, when Meghan tearfully confided in a friend, saying, “I gave up my entire life for this family. I was willing to do whatever it takes. But here we are. It’s very sad.”
Royal author Jane Marguerite Tippett also weighed in on the situation, telling 9Honey that Meghan’s departure was likely influenced by the complex circumstances she faced within the Royal Family. “It was probably a very complicated situation, the one that Meghan found herself in,” Tippett explained.
She elaborated on the challenges Meghan encountered, noting, “The institution didn’t understand how to deal with a woman, not so much who was divorced, but who had had a very independent life, who had had an education, who had lived the first 35 years of her life as someone who called her own shots, called her own story, and they probably didn’t come to grips with that in perhaps the most pragmatic way.”
Meghan’s experience highlights the difficulties she faced in adjusting to royal life and the emotional toll of her ultimate decision to step back. Despite her efforts to adapt, the demands of royal duty clashed with her independent spirit, leading to a choice that left her deeply conflicted.
