Prince William Reportedly Plans to Keep Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the “Fringes” of the Royal Family

Prince William is already preparing for his future role as King and has reportedly made plans for how to handle his strained relationship with his brother, Prince Harry, and sister-in-law, Meghan Markle. The brothers have been embroiled in a bitter feud for years, with tensions escalating after the release of Harry’s memoir, Spare, in which he claimed William physically attacked him during an argument at Kensington Palace.
According to the Mirror, the publication of Spare only deepened the divide between the two. Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals nearly four years ago and have since focused on their charitable foundation, Archewell, and various commercial ventures.
A royal insider told the Express that when William becomes King, he is unlikely to change the current dynamic between the Sussexes and the royal family. “William is already planning for when he becomes King, and he doesn’t see a future for the Sussexes in the Royal Family. The feeling is that allowing the Sussexes back into the fold is a bad move, and they should be resigned to the fringes indefinitely.”
Last week, William and Harry briefly reunited for the memorial service of their late uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, in Norfolk. The two brothers stood close to each other but did not engage in conversation, marking their first public appearance together since King Charles’ coronation.
Attendees at the service noted the physical and emotional distance between the two. “They were only five yards from each other,” one mourner told The Sun, but both made it clear they would not be speaking publicly. The brothers sat on opposite sides of St. Mary’s Church, separated by family members and the church aisle.
After the service, Prince Harry was seen leaving in a black Range Rover, further emphasizing the ongoing rift between him and his brother. While they managed to set aside their differences for the day to honor their late uncle, the deep-seated tensions remain unresolved.
As Prince William looks ahead to his future reign, it appears his stance on Harry and Meghan’s place in the royal family will remain firm, with the couple likely to remain on the periphery of royal life.
