Royal Expert Claims Prince William and Harry’s Bond Was a ‘Myth’ Before Megxit
A royal expert has made a shocking claim about the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry, stating that the idea of the brothers having a close bond before Megxit was a “myth.” Richard Fitzgerald, a royal commentator, revealed that Harry had been “very unhappy” living within the Royal family long before Meghan Markle came into his life.
As reported by GB News, Fitzgerald explained that Harry’s decision to step back as a senior royal in 2020 had been influenced by his discontent with life in the family, not just Meghan’s struggles adapting to royal life. “Harry was very unhappy,” Fitzgerald said. “If you read Spare, it is clear that his relationship with William is not what we thought.”
Fitzgerald continued, saying, “The inseparable brothers were a myth.” This statement challenges the longstanding public perception of Harry and William as the close-knit, supportive siblings that they once appeared to be.
Since stepping away from their royal duties, Harry and Meghan have been vocal about the challenges they faced within the Royal family, but according to Fitzgerald, their struggles went beyond just their treatment by the press.
“They felt that they were being briefed against,” Fitzwilliams said. “The world, in my opinion, should not have been told this in that way.” He added that while Harry and Meghan’s discontent was made public, it was unclear whether any mentorship or guidance from the Royal family would have changed the course of events.
Fitzwilliams also noted that Meghan’s brief tenure as a senior working royal may have been a factor in their decision to leave. “Meghan only lasted about a year and a half as a senior working royal before they indicated that they were unhappy,” he said.
He attributed part of Meghan’s discontent to her background and desire for a life of celebrity. “The fact that she was so used to the red carpet and the audience, it was thought she and Harry would be perfect for the role. She was, of course, deeply unhappy,” Fitzwilliams added.
In Fitzgerald’s view, while Meghan may have provided a “way out” for Harry, it was their shared unhappiness within the Royal family that led them to make their dramatic exit.
