Donald Trump’s recent indictment might be perceived as a setback for some, but according to sources, the former president believes it might be a boost to his popularity.

As reported by Raw Story, Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Greg Bluestein suggested on MSNBC that Trump could use his arraignment to overshadow other political events.

Bluestein mentioned that Trump, along with 18 others indicted in the Georgia election interference case, has until the following Friday to present himself.

However, instead of a quiet appearance, there’s speculation that Trump might choose to do so on Wednesday, the 23rd, coinciding with the GOP primary debate which he’s previously said he’d avoid.

Such a move aligns with Trump’s known penchant for theatrics and grabbing headlines. It might be a strategic maneuver to distract from the debate and notably from one of his fiercest GOP critics, Chris Christie, thus potentially drawing attention away from his opponents and keeping himself in the spotlight.
